Project and Event Ideas

Co-Op Potential!
A community has a lot of power and resources in its hands. All it takes is some thinking, a proposal at a meeting, and maybe advertising to do some really cool things. It's really easy!

Let's:

Put informational papers in bathroom stalls for reading pleasure!

Volunteer on a farm together (Let It Grow, Grass Roots Garden).

Volunteer at an animal shelter (The Raptor Center).

Add content to the wiki page! (talk to office manager) http://sites.google.com/site/scawiki/

Put a time capsule into a wall!

Have a night of drumming and fire dancing.

Organize a tree sitting.

Go to the beach!

Make guerrilla art.

Openly invite Eugene to have lunch and dinner here.

Do workshops on sex education, drug education, non-violent communication, etc.

Host an art show with a call to artists!

Have open house sessions with a fun movie and popcorn!

Hosting safe space serious conversation meetings (What The Fuck Am I Doing With My Life?, problems, worries, anger, co-op issues)

Have a co-op buddy day where people are randomly partnered up to get to know one another and do activities together.

Have a story telling night where people gather (in a fort? Cone room? Tower room?) and share their lives and interesting tid bits, or co-op history!

Throw a benefit show for a cause we all feel strongly about!

Network with other co-ops throughout Eugene, Oregon, the Pacific coast, or the whole United States.

Apply for grants to make the house more sustainable.

Organize a trip to an old growth forest.

Go to the mall and protest capitalism, hierarchy, deforestation, petroleum usage, etc.

Paint a mural!

Weld together cool bikes!

Start a bike co-op with all our scrap bikes!

Have a co-op parade through town!

Organize a co-operative fair and spread the idea of consensus and co-operative living to the world.

Set up a Really Really Free Market

Share a booth in the Community Village at Country Fair.

Let groups striving for social change use our house as a meeting place.

Build a sweat lodge!

Have family fun game nights (cards, sardines, tag, assassins, mafia, cribbage, scrabble, etc)

Arrange or join a critical mass of bicycles

Build blanket and couch forts!

Have a story telling night where people gather (in a fort? Cone room? Tower room?) and share their lives and interesting tid bits, or co-op history!
